Sounds like a good idea. At least it hints at a well defined objective (not
just look-and-feel).
You might want to look at www.eros-os.org. Their objectives may be in line with
the TCS.

I am a retired mainframe programmer with skills in IBM mainframe
assembler language and COBOL which don't do me a lot of good on
the PC. I did take some classes in C, but have never actually done
any real programming in C, and it's something that doesn't stay with
you if you don't use it. After retirement, I did manage to teach
myself Java and have done some apps in Java. That's also not going
to help me for a project like this. I have just recently purchased
a book to learn C++, but doing productive coding is still down the
road a bit.

However, I like the sound of this project and would like to do SOMEthing
to help. I only learned of this project yesterday... by accident...
maybe it is a too closely guarded secret.

at a web site would really help (the more people who know

Just found this group yesterday quite by accident.

I am a retired mainframe programmer with skills in IBM mainframe
assembler language and COBOL. I have also taken classes in C,
but have done no real programming in C, and now C source looks like
Greek to me. It just doesn't stick when you don't use it for real
programming. Since my retirement in 2001 I have managed to teach
myself Java, and have successfully done some real programming in
Java.

I really doubt that I could contribute much as a developer, but I
am retired and would like to help in some way.

Agree. But I propose to start from dividing project onto logical parts,
like many OS projects do. Must be presented groups for kernel, device
drivers, user interface, documentation, etc.

Of course. But anyway, support of all existent OS/2 API must be

Having OS/2 layer on top of such different system as *nix is not good
idea. If use another OS as base then I prefer to use ReactOS (WinNT)
because architecture allows to do such things. Just OS/2 subsystem can
be implemented without worring about kernel & drivers.
